Woolly Bugger - Don Cornelius

HOOK:

Mustad 9575, 9671, 9672, #6 - #14

THREAD:

Black.

TAIL:

Marabou Fibers.

RIB (OPTIONAL):

Fine wire (Gold, copper or silver. Gold is my favorite).

BODY:

Can be almost anything, peacock, ringneck tail fibers, wool, floss, etc.

HACKLE:

Tied in by the tips and wrapped forward to the head.

HEAD:

Finish with Black thread.

Move the fly with medium to long sized jerks of the line (18"). Excellent all around wet fly. Used year round.

Attach the marabou so that it sticks either straight back or slightly upwards from the shank of the hook (Some crystal flash can be added for more glitter). Now tie in the following: the rib (if used), the hackle (by the tips) and then the body material. Once these have been tied in wrap your thread forward to the head of the hook. Now Wrap in your body, once your happy with the thickness trim the excess material and tie off. Now bring forward your hackle, tie off and then finally your rib (if used), then tie off. Finish the head and cement.
